Turn your experience into a qualification!

There are many ways to learn, including through work experience and volunteer activities. However, this ‘on the job’ training is not always recognised by employers, who tend to look primarily at formal qualifications. The Career Academy appreciates that repeating things you already know can be tedious and time consuming. Therefore, we’re happy to help you get a certificate or Diploma based on your work experience, knowledge and skills. We offer a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to help you credit your hard won experience towards the modules of a qualification at The Career Academy. This will enable you to gain a certificate or Diploma, either in part or in full, based on our assessment of your work experience or prior courses completed. RPL gives you the benefit of using your work experience and/or past qualifications to achieve an industry recognised qualification at a fraction of the cost, time and effort. You will need to supply a copy of your CV and any past qualifications to demonstrate your knowledge and skills when you apply.

What experience counts?

If you have experience that matches the content in our certificates, you can apply to have this assessed in place of completing the modules. Alternatively, if you have started or completed a course elsewhere, this can be applied if it matches the material taught in the courses.

What is Recognition of Prior Learning?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a direct evaluation process which gets you the qualifications you merit by assessing your aptitudes, information and experience. By finishing a self-evaluation, what’s more, giving important supporting proof, you can accomplish an Industry Recognised Qualification in a matter of days or weeks. A direct appraisal process which gets you the qualifications you deserve by exploring your abilities and work experience.
